Political Scientist and Scholar

Alfredo Ramos Jiménez is a distinguished Venezuelan scholar, political scientist, and academic. He is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of the University of Los Andes in Mérida, Venezuela. He holds a doctorate in Political Science from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Throughout his career, Professor Ramos Jiménez has made significant contributions to comparative politics, political theory, political sociology, Latin American political parties, and democratic studies. He has directed the Center for Comparative Political Research and participated in the creation of the School of Political Science and the Center for Political and Social Studies of Latin America at the University of Los Andes. He is also the author of an extensive body of academic work and has served as a visiting professor at universities in Venezuela, Latin America, and Europe.
